Classes
Training will start from a very basic level (beginner) and working the syllabus through to Instructor level and beyond. Unlike many other Martial Art classes, I will be teaching practical self defence that doesn’t include flying kicks and the impractical rubbish you see in the movies.
From the Martial Art side of the training you will learn:-
- Movement and coordination
- Balance and footwork
- Strength and power
- Variety of Weapons
- Chin na (locks and holds)
- Chi Gong (breathing excercises to increase power)
- Trapping (close quarter combat)
Wednesdays 6:15pm - 7:30pm: Internal Martial Arts Class
Covering all aspects of the Erle Montaigue Explosive Energy Boxing System. Using the Baguazhang system as the focus, you will learn the Original Circular Form, the very rare "Linear Fighting" form of the Original Baguazhang system. This form is one of the most powerful, explosive and health giving forms ever invented by the people of genius from the Bagua lineage. Also you will learn the very rare and Original Full Animal forms of which there are 8, very explosive and very effective in the street and quite deadly. As part of the Animal Forms I will teach the "Bagua Qi Awaking" forms which do just that!
Wednesdays 7:30pm - 9:30pm: Hung Gar Kuen
(Southern Shaolin Kung fu)
Also known as Shaolin 5 Animals. This ancient combat and healing system boasts one of the largest collections of weapons and fighting forms of any Martial Art. Being an external system, the start of the training will develop physical attributes and condition the body. Form work is a key part to kung fu training as it lays the foundations for the more advanced skills learned at the higher levels of the art. Application of forms and training methods will be broken down into practical and useable techniques for self defence and healing along with extensive weapon training, including Knife fighting from the Kali ilistrisimo system.
NEW Thursday Night Classes for 2009
6:30 - 8:30 Mixed Martial Arts
Rather than UFC Mixed Martial Arts, this class will run closer to the lines of Jeet Kune Do (JKD), Bruce Lee's concept of mixing the best parts of all styles to create a much more diverse fighting system.
